Ronald Kraft, Ph.D., a native of California, most recently served as CEO and President of the Alliance for Corporate Education, an innovative agency of 17 Washington State Community and Technical Colleges, providing programs to business and industry. During his tenure Dr. Kraft was extensively involved in bridging corporate America in the Northwest with the business-savvy community college program.

Dr. Kraft maintains a very active speaking schedule, at both the state and national levels. He is asked to speak frequently on issues related to entrepreneurship, strategic leadership in business and higher education; the role of community colleges in training and economic development; and the role of Boards and Trustees in advancing the mission of their institution. He has written articles on trusteeship, public policy, entrepreneurship and leadership.

Dr. Kraft’s career in academia has also featured an appointment as a college Vice President in suburban Virginia, where he also served as Special Assistant to the President. Prior to his position in Virginia, Dr. Kraft held the post of Professor of Entrepreneurship and Division Chair, at Southwestern Community College. In addition, Dr. Kraft served in public office as a college Governing Member and President of the Board for twelve years and served as President of the Governing Board for the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District in southern California.

Dr. Kraft’s career in the private sector has included several senior level positions, including Executive Vice President of a financial firm, Chief Operating Officer of an international incentive travel company, and Managing Partner of a strategic consulting firm serving high growth companies, higher education and foundations.
He received his Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and Leadership from Capella University in Minnesota, and his Master’s and Bachelor’s in Business from San Diego State University.

Dr. Kraft continues to serve as a Founding Director on the San Diego Brain Tumor Foundation Board and was instrumental in establishing the southern California Foundation branch. He has served on Congressional Education Panels, as well as on a variety of boards and councils in California, Virginia and Washington. Dr. Kraft resides in Washington with his wife.
